Bar codes have become a piece of equipment that is universally used due to its ability for accurate reading, speed, and functionality.  As the popularity of bar codes have increased, the market began to generate a need for codes capable of storing more information, more character types, and that could be printed in a smaller space.  As a result, 2D Code has emerged as a solution to these problems.  2D code is a two-dimensional bar code which has the ability to store more information than the original one-dimensional bar code.  Decoders and hands-free scanners are used to read these bar codes in automated systems.
