Fiber Optic Sensors

 
Based on fiber devices, fiber optic sensors are used to measure temperature, pressure, strain and other parameters.  Electrical power is not needed and the fiber optic sensors are very small in size.  The main element that allows this device to work is that light from a laser is sent through an optical fiber, experiences subtle changes in its parameter, and then reaches a detector which measures these changes.
