PLC

 
PLC is short for Programmable Logic Controller.  These electronic devices are used for the automation of industrial processes. The PLC’s include miniature industrial computers which contain software and hardware that is used in performing control functions. 

 
The central processing unit (CPU) and the input/output interface system are the two basic sections that make up a PLC.  The CPU reads input data from connected field devices through the use of its input devices, and then performs the control program that has been stored in its memory system.
