PLC 

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is an electronic device used for automation of industrial processes.  PLC is basically miniature industrial computers containing software and hardware that is used in performing control functions. 

The CPU (Central Processing Unit) and the input/output interface system are the two main sections making up a PLC. The CPU reads input data from connected field devices through the use of its input devices, and then performs the control program that has been stored in its memory system
