Position: Application / Inside Sales Engineer

About Axis New England: Axis New England is a successful Automation Technology Center servicing the New England and Upstate New York markets. We have expertise providing robotic and motion control solutions to customers in need of machine automation. Our teams of automation engineers focus primarily on the semiconductor, electronic assembly, biomedical, fiber optic, and laser markets. We are a small (~50 employees), growing company that is seeking capable and highly motivated Inside Sales Engineers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and build a sales pipeline for the Outside Sales Engineering Team via outbound calling, email communications and other direct marketing methods.
  • Work with customers to guide them through the automation technology selection process, helping to choose products that fit their application needs.
  • Prepare quotations to support Outside Sales, with either direct or indirect customer interaction.
  • Communicate product benefits and basic technical information to customers, pulling in applications engineering resources when necessary.
  • Qualify all sales leads by discussing individual automation needs with clients by phone and email.
  • Record and follow up on sales interactions with customers.
  • Act as a bridge between Marketing and Sales, making efforts to convert leads produced by various marketing initiatives into tangible sales calls.

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong understanding of the sales process.
  • Technical understanding of mechanics, electronics, robotics and controls for products that Axis New England represents.
  • Solid multi-tasking skills, as it is common to be managing many different opportunities and quotations at a time.
  • Must be adaptable, professional, courteous and motivated, and must work well individually or as a member of a team.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Required, Associate and Bachelor Degree candidates will be considered.

Position: Production Technician

Axis New England is a successful Automation Technology Center. We have expertise providing robotic and motion control solutions for factory automation. Our teams of automation engineers service the biomedical, semiconductor, electronic assembly, defense, and general purpose automation markets.

We are in search of self-motivated, experienced individuals with the following skills:

  • Crimping and soldering
  • Read and understand electrical/mechanical schematics
  • Understand measurements and tolerances
  • Understand basic wiring
  • Following procedures and instructions
  • Ability to multitask as priorities change
  • Attention to detail without compromising quality and speed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years related experience required

Candidates should possess strong technical and verbal / written communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
